First-Ever Small Business Saturday!

As an owner of a small business I want to take a moment to recognize the impact of small businesses on our community.  November 27, 2010 is the first official Small Business Saturday, a day to come together in support of the small businesses we love. This is a national movement to drive shoppers to the local shops and restaurants that employ our neighbors and preserve our neighborhoods!

The Small Business Administration shares statistics regarding the influence of local merchants.

  • 60-80% of the new jobs over the last 10 years were created by small local businesses
  • For every $100 spent at a local merchant, $68 remains in the local community
  • Small businesses employ over half of the private sector employees
  • Small businesses represent 99.7% all employer firms

American Express is offering $25 cash back for purchases made within registered merchants.  It is easy to get your business involved!
